Tips for Residential Gate Owners
These tips, tricks, and tweaks were specially drafted to help our customers in the city to properly handle their driveways.
With this, we hope to inform residential gate users about various ways in which they can care for and properly handle their property.
Perform a monthly check of the reverse function of your gate
Not only is this a way to check that your gate is working properly, but it's an important safety feature and one that should not be overlooked. We suggest that you place a piece of wood on the track in order to obstruct the gate’s path. Once the gate tries to close on the piece of wood, it should recognize that there’s something blocking the path and immediately stop its forward motion, and then reverse.
Special attention needs to be paid to wooden components
If you have a completely wooden driveway gate, or perhaps a metal one with some wooden components, the right attention needs to be given to it. This means that every piece of wood needs to be oiled and/or stained regularly. If it is left to decay, it will negatively impact the overall performance of your gate, and you may have to replace the entire gate sooner than you, or your wallet, thought.
